横浜駅の改札前。軽く体を動かす。今日の目的地は鎌倉。Facebookで知り合った友人と、鎌倉アルプスを歩くのだ。待ち合わせの時間まで、少しだけソワソワする。

「It's about eight kilometer, ten kilometer. Thank you very much.」

8キロから10キロか。まぁ、いつものことだ。

「I send you this record and introduce you. Yeah, hey I send you letter. How is it?」

今日会う友人にメッセージを送る。どんな人だったか、少しだけ記憶が曖昧だ。

鎌倉への旅

9時。約束の時間通りに横浜駅の改札前に到着。JRに乗り、約45分で鎌倉へ向かう。車窓から見える景色を眺めていると、少しずつ旅への期待が高まってくる。

「Kamakura Kamakura I'm going to Kamakura Kamakura Kamakura...」

鎌倉駅に到着。都会の喧騒とは違う、穏やかな空気が心地よい。

「I'm going to take a walk in the park.」

待ち合わせ場所の公園に向かう。

「It's fierce, isn't it? Camomile. It's a Camomile.」

公園に咲くカモミールを見つけた。可愛らしい花に癒される。

待ち合わせ

「Now you just arrived?」

見慣れない外国人の男性が話しかけてきた。彼が、今日一緒に歩く友人？

「Yes.」

お互い様らしい（笑）。少しだけ気まずい空気の中、自己紹介を済ませる。

「Did you speak Japanese?」

彼は日本語を少し話せるみたいだ。

今日のハイキングコースは、彼も知らないようだ。

鎌倉観光スタート！

今日のハイキングはおよそ2時間、5キロほどのコースだ。

公園の池を眺めながら、のんびりと歩き出す。水面を泳ぐ鳥たちを眺めていると、心が安らぐ。

「Wow. Kamome.」

カモメが気持ちよさそうに空を飛んでいる。

今日はハイキングというより、観光気分で楽しもう。

お腹が空いてきたので、バックパックの中のサンドイッチを取り出す。

鶴岡八幡宮へ

鶴岡八幡宮に到着。大きな鳥居が目の前にそびえ立つ。

流鏑馬（やぶさめ）という言葉を教える。

鎌倉幕府の将軍、源頼朝の話をする。彼は日本の歴史には詳しくないみたいだ。

源頼朝の墓に立ち寄る。歴史を感じる。

墓の横にある洞窟を指さす。

洞窟の奥は立ち入り禁止になっているようだ。

この墓には3人の人物が眠っているらしい。

ハイキングコースへ

地図を確認すると、目的地の山はすぐそこだ。

荏柄天神社を通り過ぎる。絵馬がたくさん飾られていた。

お守りの意味を説明する。

いよいよ鎌倉アルプスへ！道すがら、彼はトイレの場所まで教えてくれた。

僕の英語を褒めてくれる。

ハイキングコースの入り口に到着。緑豊かな風景に心が躍る。

今日は台風の影響はないようだ。

絶景との出会い！そして【GoPro HERO7】の出番！

山道を進んでいくと、美しい渓谷が姿を現した。

新しい出会い

Facebookで出会ったこと、今日が初めての鎌倉ハイキングだということ。

「Where did you start? Denden course, yes.」

ハイキングのスタート地点について話す。

「So, I'm living in Kyoto now. So, I came from one year before for the business transformation. So, I'm living here now. In Kanagawa? Yeah, in Kanagawa. I look around friends on the Facebook. So, I actually meet him here. So, yes, yes. How about you? Are you always hiking?」

彼は京都に住んでいるらしい。

「Yeah, winter season is the best. Winter season. Not bad. Not bad, yes. I enjoy this. It's the first time, but with friends. So, I'm enjoying. Yes. Thank you.」

冬のハイキングは、空気が澄んでいて最高だ。

建長寺へ

ゴールの建長寺が見えてきた。

お寺の前で写真を撮る。拝観料は500円だ。

建長寺を後にして、北鎌倉駅へ向かう。
